Corinth
|
Founded in the Neolithic times, ancient Corinth
existed until 146 BC when it was razed by the Romans. Ancient Corinth was
a prosperous town due to its location on a narrow isthmus between the Saronic
and Corinthian gulfs. Corinthian pottery became a popular export item from
the 7th century BC onwards. The Museum of Classical Archaeology houses Corinthian ceramic ware
typical of their distinctive style of rosettes and animals motifs.
